Report a wrong price
Prices come from the stations’ own reports to official government services, so a price can occasionally be out of date or different at the pump.
- Check the “last updated” time on the station in OctaFuel. The source may not have the new price yet.
- Send us the station name and town, the fuel, the price you saw at the pump and when.
- If the station keeps reporting a wrong price, we’ll point you to the official source for that country (for example DGEG, MITECO or prix-carburants.gouv.fr), which is the only place it can be corrected.
Frequently asked questions
Is OctaFuel free?
Yes. The app is free and supported by ads, which it shows only after you give consent. There are no in-app purchases.
Where do the prices come from?
From official public sources in each country, such as DGEG in Portugal, MITECO in Spain, prix-carburants.gouv.fr in France and MIMIT in Italy. Where there are no station prices, OctaFuel shows the official maximum price or the national average, for example from the European Commission’s Weekly Oil Bulletin. The full list is in the Data sources section. Prices may still differ from the price at the pump.
Which countries and fuels are covered?
All 27 EU countries and Iceland. Station prices: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Denmark, Iceland, Lithuania, Austria (cheapest stations only) and Romania. Official maximum or uniform prices: Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Czechia and Malta. Averages: the other EU countries. Fuels: 95, 98, Diesel, Premium diesel, LPG and E85, where each country reports them. The UK is not covered.
What about countries that don’t use the euro?
Prices are shown in the local currency (for example złoty, koruna, krona or forint). To compare countries, OctaFuel converts them to euros with the European Central Bank’s reference rates; those conversions are for comparison only.
Do I need an account?
No. There’s no sign-up. Open the app and you’ll see prices around you straight away. Your favourites and alerts stay on your phone.
How do price alerts work?
Choose a fuel, a target price and a radius. Each time the app refreshes prices, it checks your alerts and shows you any nearby station at or below your target. Alerts aren’t checked in the background, so open OctaFuel to see the latest matches.
Does OctaFuel show EV charging prices?
No. OctaFuel covers petrol, diesel, LPG and E85 only. Electric charging isn’t included.
When is the Android version coming?
OctaFuel launches on iPhone first. An Android version is planned, but there’s no date yet.
